Group Accommodation
Opening in April 2017, Canberra Park is the largest and newest group accommodation facility in the Canberra Region. The facility has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the group markets that travel to Canberra each year.
The development of the property was a carefully thought out process including many studies to assess the needs of those who would stay
with us most.
The layout of our buildings allows small groups to book individual spaces or larger groups to accommodate all spaces. The floor plan of the group accommodation consists of six individual buildings, or pods as we refer to them. Each of our pod names have been selectively chosen to reflect some of the Australian species that have been reintroduced at Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary here in Canberra. We want our groups to gain an appreciation of the local flora and fauna of the Canberra area.
Each individual bunk room opens onto a communal area within the accommodation building, allowing for supervision and privacy. The entry and exit access is at each end of the building and creates a secure environment to accommodate our many younger guests - this was a priority in the design as this also provides supervisors easier control over any group member that wishes to enter or exit the area.
Our communal areas are there as a place to relax and with the often cool temperatures experienced in Canberra, this area is complete with central heating for optimum comfort - a great area to discuss the adventures of the day or plan strategies for the ensuing period of stay.
In addition to this, Canberra Park offers another 40 single and twin rooms to accommodate supervisors and teachers. The supervisor rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, television and private bathroom facilities. These rooms are conveniently located in each pod to allow the group coordinator to effectively supervise and monitor the behaviour of their group whilst having their own private room in which to relax. Wheelchair accessible rooms are also located within each pod to accommodate those with special needs.
Our coach drivers are accommodated in a separate building again to allow them the rest they need to be ready to embrace the events of the following day out and about.
We want to ensure all our guests feel safe and comfortable; we focus strongly on customer service and feedback and our team strives to provide specialised attention to meet the individual needs of each and every guest. We appreciate after a long day of touring and sightseeing, returning to a comfortable place to stay, enjoying professionally made in-house meals and recharging the batteries in preparation for another busy day is very important.
